Since most of us have been Rotarians, there has never been such a colossal, worldwide display of recognition to Rotary in its efforts to eradicate Polio and embrace World Peace as we've seen this week. In our District, International President, Ray Klinginsmith, arrived Monday in Portland ME. There was an informal cocktail reception at the Eastland Hotel;  then a street gathering of celebration while President Ray said a few words, followed by the spectacular lumination of the Portland Museum. On Tuesday, the World Peace and Understanding Dinner was sold out. Wednesday, DG Ann Lee accompanied President Ray to NYC where he rang the bell at the close of the NYSE. From Portsmouth NH to Singapore- bells ring, buildings light. Happy 106 anniversary, Rotary..
