Our club sponsors an Interact club at the Portsmouth High School. This active group of over forty students conducts regular community service projects and fundraisers. Over the past year, they have raised "coins for causes" to benefit Rotary International's PolioPlus campaign, and their efforts earned matching funds from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Interact students serve monthly at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen, assist our club in Christmas Tree sales, take part in Rotary events and conduct their own service projects.
In addition to raising money and awareness for PolioPlus, they have engaged in other international service activities including a pen-pal program with an Interact club in Malaysia, and recently welcomed students from Northern Ireland to Portsmouth in conjunction with Friends Forever.
To contact our Interact students, please get in touch with one of our Rotary co-chairs for Interact, Andrew Chace and Joanie Dickinson.
