More International....

Portsmouth Rotary Club- Group Study Exchange from Hong Kong –The Portsmouth Rotary and Seacoast Rotary Clubs will host the 2011 GSE Healthcare Team from Hong Kong from May 2nd through May 6th, 2011.  The two Rotary Clubs organized host families, activities and professional vocation opportunities for an exchange of information.  Host families opened up their homes, and a myriad of Seacoast Healthcare Facilities afforded opportunities to our visitors for a first hand information share with colleagues, doctors and medical staff coupled with facility tours..   Rotary Club  organizers Luis Melchor, Midge Nelson and the rest of the GSE Committee members spent many months planning this wonderful experience for our Hong Kong guests. 

In the early 1960s, the Rotary International Trustees began considering programs for non-Rotarians that would promote international goodwill and understanding. One plan was for small groups of young business and professional men and women to travel from one Rotary district to a district in another country. In the nearly five decades since, more than 70,000 young men and women have traveled the globe as part of Group Study Exchange teams.
