As I am writing this, I realize that we have just over 3-months till Christmas!  Hardly enough time for a mother of three to ready for our visitor from the North Pole…

Welcome to Mistletoe Missive…Portsmouth Rotary’s weekly update to our club’s single largest fundraising project – celebrating 40-years of success!

Save the Date:   

Don’t be left out in the cold!  Signups for the mandatory 3-shift commitment will begin on October 4th and will end on October 25th.  Rotarians who have not voluntarily chosen three shifts, will be assigned open dates.  Marie Brownell is in charge of all scheduling and all requests for exemption must be approved by her and Dave Underhill, president-elect and tree committee chair.

Want to “Spruce Up” Your Business?  

 Consider purchasing your holiday wreaths (available in 12”, 16” or 24”) from our newly formed Business Wreath committee, chaired by Mark Sullivan.  The committee, including Marie Brownell, Linda Browning, Joanie Dickenson, Cathy Edison, Gloria LeBlanc, Lynn McLaren, Deb Rourke, Mark and Loree Sullivan will be working fast and furious in the next several weeks in what is sure to be another successful fundraiser for our club! 

Poinsettias  Anyone?

Did you know that this fundraiser, chaired by our very own Basil Richardson raises nearly $1000 annually to our club’s charitable budget?  And it wouldn’t be the holiday season without a phone call from Basil himself!

Poinsettias will be on sale again this year.  Details to follow.

Cashier Training Dates: 

Cashiers needed!  Our newly renovated trailer will be equipped with our very own Cashier Window.  We will need for approximately 25-30 Rotarians for be trained to handle our I-Pad register system.  Shannon Aldrich will be holding training sessions on November 1, 8 and 15 from 11:15 to 11:45, just before our weekly meeting onsite at the Portsmouth Country Club.   Additional training dates are Wednesday November 14th beginning at 5:30 and on Saturday, November 17th beginning at 10:00 am both located at the Keller Williams training facility at 501 Islington Street, second floor.
