Belated Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone!  Not sure why we were having General Tso’s chicken for an Irish holiday, but it was delicious!
Greeter today was Francoise Meissner. Judy Ringer led us inGod Bless America, while Paris read a beautiful invocation.

Happy Dollars.
Lots of happy people at Rotary today!  Ed Mallon was happy to have reconnected with an old friend. Frank celebrated birthday fun in Ft. Myers. Nicole Scarneo was delighted for being a guest.  Anne Bliss’s dollar was to acknowledge bringing a guest (she even added another buck for a future guest.) Tom Decker was, of course, thrilled to be hosting his grandson.
Judy Loto contributed to the club in honor of a friend’s successful brain surgery. Ben Wheeler can no longer keep up with his daughter skiing and thought that was worth a dollar. Finally, there was Neal, who wasn’t happy but wanted to see Justin run across the room with the cash bucket.  There were so many happy dollars. I’m certain that I probably missed a few and for that I’m sorry L
Dave Holden won the $50 raffle prize (no match) and introduced our Speaker today.

Main Program:
Our speaker John Grimes is a teacher of Irish Dance in Dover.  He is a former River Dancecast member and has had a passion for dancing since he was 11 years old.
The kids were all amazing. They performed in “soft shoes” as well as “hard shoes.” That sounds like tap dancing, except that in Irish Dance the dancer is always trying to hide one knee behind the other (fun fact.)

Towards the end, Rosie, Lilly and their mother of Morse Family Band performed a few pieces on their violins. They simply blew us away with their choreographed dancing and instrument handling.  If Spring does come this year, you can see them play at the Portsmouth Farmers Market.
